Hi all,
I'll be arriving in Finland early October. We have bought a van to transport our stuff from the UK, and I was wondering if I could put it to use after we arrive.
I'm thinking mies ja pakketiauto, or man and van as we say in England!!
I've been lead to believe that there may be a [limited] market for this, but that I would need to do some sort of test to be permitted to use the van for carrying other people's belongings.
Can anyone tell me what this test is called? Also, are there any tests for the vehicle [apart from standard Finnish "MOT" type test]?
Kiitos!!
T. Rob

Off the top of my head, if the vans over 2000kg you need to get a traffic permit from the provincial government. So like a small transit does not need one, but a luton van does. Then the drivers licence rules changed so for professional driving you need to do a special professional extra (like HGV drivers do) and it needs to be renewed every 5 years... Go look on the http://www.trafi.fi pages for further info.

Many thanks for your reply.
My van is a LWB hi roof Transit, which I think weighs 1975kg unladen. So far so good!!
But, I'll still need to do the test.
Will contact Trafi and find out what's involved.
Many thanks once again!
