Hello Guys,
I have been given a place by Te office to study Finnish for a year, but unfortunately it came at a time when I am almost six months pregnant. I have been waiting for this for over a year now, and now that is here I am confused as to weather to attend the course and drop out after three months, or tell them to differ it until some time after delivery. My fear is that if I tell them I am unable to attend, I may have to wait for years again to be offered a place. what do you think I should do?

Re: How should I Handle This
I think your fear is justified. TE keskus is not known for its customer friendliness. My fear is that if I tell them I am unable to attend, I may have to wait for years again to be offered a place.

I say, go to the course and attend the 3 months. Let them see you and know you, and learn as much as you can. Then some time before your birth, talk to the supervisor at the language learning center and explain your situation. They most likely have a direct communication with the TE-palvelut and can just relay your case and something will be worked out.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Hello Guys,
I Thank you all very much for your wonderful and friendly advise. You have really helped me clear the confusion in my mind, and I really appreciate you all. It's amazing how people like you will sacrifice their time just to help a stranger they don't even know. I say thank you very much.
