Kela unemployment benefit and online working

Post by neronakos » Wed Nov 18, 2015 5:38 pm

Hei! So I was offered a job from another country (Singapore), but I don't have to move to the country. But, I will get paid from that country. The thing is that I will get paid on my Greek bank account (I am from Greece originally). So I wanted to ask is, do I give these salary statements to kela as well, while still being considered unemployed? (It is a part time job).

Where you get paid is irrelevant for Kela so yes you do notify Kela. Also make sure you have things like pension payment rules that normally the employer takes care of thought out. It's unlikely the Singaporean company handles these.

But make sure you tell Kela that it is part time! in this case your unemployment benefits will not be stopped and what you bruto earn you have to fill the Kela paper for that every time you get salary, it will be used to recalculate your remaining % unemployment benefits for that month. For Pension related matters, you will have to pay those levies yourself, you might want to contact TE office to help you with that or at least show you the right way where to fix that. Also make sure Tax is paid in Singapore, then you don't need to pay that here or in Greece (if singapore has a tax treaty with Finland, ask vero office). Kela will need the contract and the pay slips, so will the tax office (in case of taxation in Finland).
If god would give us the source code, we could change the world
