Post by Tbilisi » Tue Feb 02, 2016 7:51 pm

Hello,

i am Giorgi, a student from Georgia. This yea i will have finished my Bachelor in Georgia and i want to study information technology in Finland. As i know, in Finland there are no tuition fee, regardless of origins of students. I have several programms that are offered by polytechnics.... It look like very tempter... But i have some questions

1. i have no financial assistance from family, so i will have to work at the some time. I have read that students are allow to work 20 hours a work. But is it esy to find a job in Helsinki if i don't know Finnish language?

2. If i already have a bachelor degree which are recognized in Finland, must i pass entrance exam too?

3. if i want to study information technology, which of subject field must i pass with english? Only mathematics?

4. Have u ever met with georgian students in Finland?

thanks

In the near future there will be a tuition fee for non-EU students.
But is it esy to find a job in Helsinki if i don't know Finnish language?
No it is very difficult.

Starting August 2017 (application period January 2017), there will be tuition fees for non-EU students. The minimum is set to 1500 euros/year. Some Universities already set their fees between 6000-20000 euros/year.

You'll need to have money before your apply for your first residence permit in Finland, regardless if you can get a job or not. The amount for now is 6720.
Also, getting a job in Helsinki in the IT business is not that difficult. It's not easy at all, but it's not that difficult either. If you don't suck, you'll probably get something within 2-4 months of your arrival. I don't know you, but chances are that you suck, since most people do.

Yes.

All.

Yes.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

I think you need to look at going somewhere else. Not Finland.

Your plan is not going to succeed.

Go somewhere that you at least partly speak the language. Maybe UK.
