Hello,
I got Finnish citizenship year 2012. Now my wife is planning to apply for citizenship. But I got few confusions. When I applied citizenship. I have been working in Nokia and other companies for 7-8 years. So it was based on work. So I submitted previous 4-5 years tax paper. But my wife never worked in Finland. But she is studying. So she gets opintotuki. Someone said that she doesn't need to provide any tax papper. Because she is not applying base on her work. She is mainly applying as spouse of a Finnish citizen.
At this moment I'm unemployed. I receive unemployment benefit only. So our earning sources are unemployed benefit and opintotuki. But we managed to live with these income. We don't get any other social support. I own an apartment. So I don't even get housing benefit.
My question is it ok for her citizenship application if we provide only the following documents:
1. Her permanent resident card.
2. Yki test certificate.
3. Her study certificate.
4. Opintutuki from Kela.
Please let me know. Also please advise me anything related in this regard. Thanks in advanced!

Neither work or family relations are basis of citizenship applications. They are categories used in residence permits.madsum wrote: I got Finnish citizenship year 2012. Re: Citizenship application when spouse is a Finnish citizen
Just got mine last week. Did not even have any income for the first few months after I applied. So I used spouse's income. Along the line(3-4)months after I had little income and added it to the application and was not a problem.
But to reiterate the official migri requirement, opintotuki is enough to get citizenship. It does not matter the spouse's situation. The only requirement is that she has a ''means of living''
Fear not and go with exactly what you have. You should be fine.

I
A friend who identified a day after mine got his last day of december even though we were contacted for further info same day in the beginning of December. I.e. 6 months
My point is the timeline is within the limit specified by migri 7 month. But the most complete application without much doubt are done faster. When you have one or two commas in your application like mine ( frequent travel ) then it takes more time because it might need to go under special consideration before a decision is made. That is how I understand it according to migri website
I applied in June and proved identity exactly July 1 2015. I was contacted first week December and got the decision 23 Feb 2016. About 8 months.Jimmy_Jack wrote:
