Aaaargh, so I forgot to use the disc! One side of Jumbo demands it, the other side does not. But I remember reading somewhere that private companies cannot issue fines, and seem to find a lot of discussions, most from from 2010, and quite a lot from 2012 on the discussion.
Any opinions here?
I.e. other than your mistake, you must pay... etc?
Parking fine from a private company
Re: Parking fine from a private company
Yes and no. They aren't the same as municipal parking fines, but basically something that is considered by courts enforceable as private contract. There as far as I have understood two possible options that may make sense. Either you pay the "fine" or then you contest in on the grounds you were not driving the car. I believe any other kind of attempt will fail . One of the key difference between these private things and proper municipal parking fines is, that the for the latter one the by law the owner (or "haltija") of the car liable to to pay if he can't show somebody else was driving it.that private companies cannot issue fines
No guarantees given for that tip. There does not seem to be any definite court case on the matter. Many seem to think the parking companies have been reluctant to take one to court fearing if they lost badly enough their whole business will collapse.

It can also be possible to prevail on the grounds that the signage is not clear enough to enter into a contract.Rip wrote: I believe any other kind of attempt will fail.
Here's info from a couple years back on the court situation.Rip wrote: No guarantees given for that tip. There does not seem to be any definite court case on the matter.
