Renewal of residence permit for researchers

So I am a phd student having a residence permit for researchers. I applied in March this year. The permit type is B and valid for one year. And I will be applying for a renewal by February.
So, my query is that does the permit renewal lead to a type A or a type B permit ?

I don't know but I have the same question some people said yes and some people said no.
