Hi Cindy. Sorry about all those recent troubles down there in beautiful Laguna Beach. I rather miss seeing the Pageant of the Masters every year.
If you are looking for Finnish friends in LA/OC, the area is rich and running with pesky Finns:
The Finlandia Foundation is the premier source of Finnish culture in U.S. http://www.finlandiafoundation.org/ If you click on the top of that page, on Western, then California, you'll see there are several chapters and people in OC, including Huntington Beach and Irvine. Here's the direct link to the So. Cal. chapter: http://www.finlandiafoundation.org/CA/la/html/home.htm
There's a Finnish Folk Art Museum in Pasadena. Check there for postings and more info about gatherings: http://www.pasadenahistory.org/thingsto ... useum.html
There's a Finnish Lutheran church in Van Nuys on Sherman Way, just 1 block up from Sepulveda. It's a bit of a drive to go up there from your area once but it would be a good way to find other Finns in the greater LA/OC area since I'm sure they would know where all the other people are. Their services are in Finnish by Rev. Pertulla.

Also, in Pasadena, right next to the rose bowl, is a Finnish Folk Art Museum
