Hi,
We are considering moving our Car from Dubai to Finland.
Model: Infiniti Q50.
I understand that there are Import Formalities, Taxes, Re-Registration cost as well as a few modifications, such as - Headlamps, Winter Tyres, Block Heaters etc.
My Question is -
Is it a Good Idea to bring an Infiniti Car to Finland?
Will I get good Network of Auto Service providers who will be able to service the car, Replace parts if needed etc.
My doubt is because -
As my understanding is - there is no dealership of Infiniti in Finland.
I see some Second Hand Infinitis being sold - but no real distribution?
Please do add, if there are some other considerations we am missing.
Thanks

If there is no dealership and no importer you will get a lousy service.biswajit.sharma wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 9:07 pmHi,

There will be no spare parts available and they have to be ordered from abroad (USA ?)
Every repair can therefore take weeks.
And an unfamiliar car might also cause some difficult questions at the annual safety test.

With a quick check, it's doesn't seem that any Nissans sold in Finland share the power train with any of those of Inifiniti Q50. Probably there are some parts that are shared, sensors and what have you, in addition to generic parts such as spark plugs, but with anything more specific you'd be buying replacement parts from the Internet yourself.
Also, since it's a brand not sold in Finland, likely the eventual sale price is lower than what you'd get from a more known brand with a comparable purchase price in Dubai.

Thank you rinso & FinnGuyHelsinki.
You both have confirmed by apprehension.
I am in a bit of Catch 22 - Resale in Dubai is becoming very hard these days, even if people buy - you don't get a fair price.
And in Finland, like you both mentioned it might not really be helpful to take the car along, if in long term the service will not be present.
