outside of EEA, is such saving considered as income or capital? Is the gain or the entire amount taxed? If I take the money back, I'm supposed to report it yes?
On vero there is:
Capital income
Capital income is the income generated through the possession of wealth, such as rental income, gains from selling an asset, dividend income, certain interest income, proceeds from a life insurance contract,
but nothing about insurance saving.
Tax on foreign insurance saving?

Gain, according to this (if relative paid the insurance then it kicks gift tax and if third party then entire amount is taxed as capital gains, see page 8 ):

Thanks! I paid it myself and cancelled it early so there is likely to be no gain. So only the gains would be taxed as capital gains? Not added to the normal sort of income which would bring up tax rate?
Is it allowed to submit document in non-English/Finnish/Swedish? And how do they calculate the euro value? It was deposited many years ago and the value of euro has dropped a lot since. e.g. If the original value was X$100 and now X$90, so my gain is X$-10, but euro was worth much more so by euro the value might be €2 when I paid and worth €3 now, which would be a gain even if I take losses?
