Integration Finnish Courses vs. Adult Education Finnish Courses

Post by OrangeCrush » Thu Oct 17, 2019 9:03 pm

I'm hoping someone can clarify for me the difference between the language classes that TE places people in during an integration plan, and classes learning on one's own at a language school such as Omnia.

I remember hearing about some people being able to study Finnish 5 hours a day, every day of the week intensively for 6 months. But when I look up study options for intensive classes that anyone can pay for on their own, the maximum amount of studying time I can find is 4 days a week and 2.5 hours a day for 4 months for A1.1-A3.3. I was thinking I'd be able to find a class with more hours, and bury myself in the language daily.

Can a kind soul or two with experience/knowledge let me know what I'm missing, or if I'm just not finding the correct information? I'd appreciate it. :)

(And, greeting to all of my fellow English-speaking North American/EU immigrants in Uusimaa looking to exchange messages/share stories. :) )

Te courses cannot be seen or booked by yourself. They are dedicated courses which TE organise and put people in need into them based on that integration program.
