What?
You can't?
Are you not born in Finland?
Naturally you can: "...whose tormented soul saw the first rays of light when you came to my life..."
"..realizing how the envy had carved my heart that was bound with stripes of steel like a barrel, until I saw your pure love melting all my vanity..."

You just need to be in love and all the texts comes from old Väinämöinen and flush your brain until you can't be two minutes without pencil and paper, so that you can write down all the feelings toward her, and the writings are the way you are in contact o her.
The first week is hard, but then you understand that you have to sleep also...
Yes, Väinämöinen is not looking like an Amor, but it is he who put the creation in your soul, who gave your lips the ability to sing.
Without him, we would need a horse-load of vodka every now and then.
I stop my rant here, because you will see it all one day, when she comes and smiles the first time at you.

For those who does not know who Väinämöinen is: He is the poet, the old man chasing young girls in our national epos, Kalevala.

YAY! A defender of my lover! Thanks! At least someone doesn't believe romance is dead. What would this world be like if noone had a romantic bone in their body? I tend to express myself poetically too. Just can't hlpe myself now I found out what those txts mean. So THANKS to all those people who translated them! xx

:)

P.S. He's not overly romantic!!! He's just great :)

All Finnish men are alike: Nobody believes that they have a Romance-button, because the button is so hard to find.
And the most astonished guy, about the button, is always the guy himself!
But when he has never ever before used this option, did not even know he had it, you can trust that it is sincere, even if he is not able to put the words in the very best order and there is a lot of space between the words.
He's confused like a bear looking for sweet blue-berries, that has landed, with the help of and magical wand, into a candy-store.

Btw. whatever2005, if you want to see what thoughts is orbiting his mind, ask him to do as follows:
"- Take a Finnish dictionary
- Take any word
- Write down what the word means to you, what feelings does the word wake inside you?.
- Send everything you have written down to me." <= To whatever2005, that is.

So, just copy and paste from my translation, and send it to him, and he will be very glad to find a way to write to you.
You just have to help your bear who is confused.

The translation:

Tee näin:
- Ota joku suomalainen sanakirja
- Ota sieltä summamutikassa mikä tahansa sana ja kirjoita muistiin mitä se sana merkitsee Sinulle, mitä tunteita tämä sana herättää Sinussa.
- Lähetä minulle kaikki mitä olet tällä tavoin kirjoittanut muistiin.

___________________________________________________

P.S. You can try the same thing with yourself and send him your writings.
Do not choose too much the words, just pick out one of maximum ten words.

I am? Thanks! Hehe, I don't think he does really. He might do, I can ask! But I think he's unique like I am!

Good luck!

Yeah I kinda brought it out in him, and same for me. Hehe, you're sweet. I will try it, and send him it and send him one too. I'll let you know what he thinks.

Jeez, you're cheering the crap out of us, lady. But keep it going, we need more non-depressed people here. Somehow this thread makes me happy, even though I'm not really into over-the-top romantic flattery.

I wouldn't say it's miserable, just funny... and dark as hell.

OK, You have now been writing for two - three days to each other.
I gather the pages of the dictionaries are quite worn out by now.

It is time to give us a report; "What's happening on the sunny side of love", in these damp and dark days.
Give us a smile :P and tell us about your adventures in Loveland.
Please, please...
