All I can agree on the initiative is that they should revamp the current system as it doesn't work too well. The difference of opinion is rife; is immigration an internal/security thing or is it a labor issue?

Now I can understand the Ministry of the Interior wanting to control the refugee centres. OK, so people live freely and come and go as they please; the system is geared on trust. So then a few individuals misuse the trust and we have the US state department accusing us of "Human Trafficking". I can well understand the Ministry of the Interior is pissed off that "dissapeared" people from Oulu are found in Helsinki harbor. The problem is that Finland, to be operational, is based on the principle of proper order. You can't have people living like "pigs in the forest" says the Mininistry of the Interior.

Then come in the MOL and UVI and a few denizens of other offices that twiddle their thumbs processing the applications. The process times used to be long but still are just plain daft considering we don't have *that* much immigration.

And i don't think Finland has an official immigration policy. There are ideas and projects and such, but nobody told the other ministry of this, so een MOL has some luring of highly-trained people, UVI wants to know their knicker colors...

I'm on Daryl with this, maybe we'd need a totally separate Ministry of Immigration, unless they can come up with a *working* triumvirate.
