Info from Kela. Or in short
Expectant mothers whose pregnancy has lasted for at least 154 days and who have undergone a medical examination at a maternal welfare clinic or a doctor's office before the end of the fourth month of pregnancy are entitled to a maternity grant.
The maternity grant is either the maternity package or 140€.
6th week would be a bit early to see a doctor (Espoo pages says that first visit is usually in week 10-14), but you need to go to the neuvola (maternal welfare clinic) or a private doctor before the end of your forth month, for you to get the package.
Perhesuunnitteluneuvola, as well as neuvola, usually has only certain hours that they take calls. Check your city's web pages, they most probably have it there.
And I really don't think that most doctors are mean here. Sure there are some, but that goes for any country. But you don't have to use the public medical services, if you don't want to, you can also use a private doctor.
And congratulations on your pregnancy!!!
