The small dial in the center is to control how many spins per minute or something. So if you set it at the highest, it spins the most water out, and at lower speeds your clothes will be wetter after the wash cycle.

I'm an immigrant without perfect Finnish too, but my machine is similar to yours. I always use the area on the right of the big dial that says valko-kirjopyykki. Of course the numbers are for water temperatures in celsius. I use 30 for colors, warmer for whites, etc.

Tehopesu-tahrat means power was-stains. I think the stuff on the left side of the dial is for delicates, etc. Villa means wool, and I think that setting is for things you'd hand wash.

Sorry, I'm not so sure about the buttons.

I hope this helps, I tried the best I can since no one else who knows better answered.

:)
Don't worry, it only feels kinky the first time....

Okie here goes:
valims = ready
toiminassa = functioning
aloitus=start

siliävät=drip-drying
pois päältä=off
valko/+kirjopyykki=White/colored
tehopesu tahrat=power washing, removing stains
+esipesu= pre-wash
huuhtelu =rinsing wash
linkous=spin
veden poisto=drain the water
villa=wool
kylmä=cold
hienopesu=fine wash

diamond = start
Iron symbol = wach for clothes ( not fully dry) for ironing..so clothes are semi-wet
water symbol on tray=just washing only
water symbol under tray = spin cycle only (but not sure)

there is probably a pdf version to download from bosch, but the model numbers aren't always the same in different markets.

pick an english speaking country and try their bosch local site (like bosch.co.uk). USA normally has totally different models, australia normally similar to europe. Ireland is nearly always the same site as uk.

some country sites have multiple languages for download - so you might even find english manuals on the german bosch site.

sometimes the model numbers are different but the machine is basically the same (might have a different colour front or one button extra). so you might have to download several pdf's to check and find the one that matches what your machine looks like.

this always works for me. in the worst case send an email to the importers and they might post you one in english.

Thank you very much for all of you that helped me in using the washing machine. :D
One more question.Whether time for wash is automatic or i have to switch off the machine after finishing the wash?

Washing time is automatic and depends on the program and temperature you have chosen: 30° is shorter than 60°. When it is finished, you turn the power OFF, and close the water tap.

I found a similar model on Bosch's UK site. Go to http://www.boschappliances.co.uk/boschu ... .asp?cat=1 and search for the manual for WOL2200. The site is complicated, and won't let me link directly to the PDF file.

don't forget that the finns are rather paranoid about washing machines:

your insurance won't cover any damage if the machine leaks and you run it unattended (perhaps even overnight) and you must turn off the supply tap when it's not in use. and then I think in apartments you have to have some drip tray underneath so that if it leaks the water comes to the front and you can notice it (rather than the people downstairs tell you :)

When I got my machine, it took some guessing and testing to work out what all the buttons did, as it took 3 weeks for the "customer service" contacts at the websites to tell me that they didn't have my model's instructions in english.

Then I googled for the email of someone high up in the company (unrelated department) and emailed him with my problem. Got a pdf of the instructions in english the next day. :)
