Oh, the job should be a "permanent" job (not a fixed-term contract) !!

Are you blaugrau sure that your trick will work? As you said before:
blaugrau wrote:Jos työskentelet Suomessa opintojesi aikana, sosiaaliturvasi määräytyy työskentelyn aikana samalla tavalla kuin muillakin työntekijöillä. Jos olet opiskelun ohella vähintään neljä kuukautta kestävässä, työssäoloehdon täyttävässä työssä Suomessa, sinut voidaan ottaa Suomen sosiaaliturvan piiriin työskentelyn ajaksi. Kun työskentely päättyy, oikeutesi Suomen sosiaaliturvaan ratkaistaan sen perusteella, asutko Suomessa tilapäisesti vai vakinaisesti."
If she is marked as a student now in the population registry, she can be covered by the Finnish social security as long as she is working. I might be wrong, but according to my understanding, she will fall out of the Finnish social security when she stops working.

Yes, you are right that it is difficult to tell if she'll keep getting the health insurance should she stop working immediately after the four months. They are not clear on that, in my opinion, as they say they will decide that then on the grounds if she's permanent or not (but the passage quoted is from the foreign student section, so above they had stated that a student is not covered, but should they take up work then they are covered, and if they stop working then it will be reconsidered). So I think it's possible she might get "permanent" status through the job nevertheless, and then keep the health insurance. But you are right that it's questionable if it'll go that smooth. I don't know if it's possible to go to the maistraatti and try change the status from student to working once she has a job again, but I guess she could try and ask about that. I don't think the text states that it is clearly impossible that she'll keep the insurance though. But I take your point!

KELA notoriously makes left-hand right-hand decisions totally arbitrarily, and especially if they find a way not to pay something they do...
Cheers, Hank W.
