i thought in the beginning that it was such a prosperous country with opportunities for every one distinguishing no race, profession,hobbies, beliefs, social level, education opportunities, without any discrimination etc.

Well, that is a mistake many people make.
While there is little open discrimination, Finns favour Finns above foreigners if they have a choice.
So nothing is impossible, but it's a lot harder than you expect.
Hank and others just tell it plainly. Many foreigners look at Finland through rose coloured glasses, they need a wake up call.

Why yes, if you speak Finnish Then maybe if you are a Nordic citizen. Thats "first world". The "Second world" is the EU, which people are allowed but unfortunate in their linguistical challenges. Except maybe Estonians. So yes, everyone is welcome to find a job http://www.mol.fi => figure out something.

So I am not interested really in what you do and even less how you feel. The facts remain. You are quite welcome to come here and figure I know the facts, look things out yourself, its a free country. i guess scaring people off from asking broad questions is what people on this forum like to do best.
Not serious questions but open ones, are probably a no go.
Because making people feel like crap, and not saying just myself but other people who have been, oh lets call it "attacked" when enquiring about your beloved country is what these people like to do.
Do these people have lives?
are they working for the government? lets hope so, so i can get my 110% worth of an enquiry.
Its sad to see so many people in love with such a differrent country, with so many ass holes living in it. my tip: visit oslo.

Well, first of all... If you wanted to know what kind of jobs makeup people do in Finland, you were being silly.

They do the same crap they do everywhere else. There is no special "finnish makeup artistry" which refers to making polar bears look prettier.
Same stuff that is done everywhere.

But... There is little to no hope of employment in the field unless you start your own salon, and I have serious doubts you could live on it even in Helsinki.
There are too many native wannabes for foreigners, who do not communicate right and have no connections, to have a good shot.
We gave you reality in short, rough and realistic load.

It could be made appealing, nice, hide the realities. But there are as it is too many people who are depressed, and some very whiny, because they do not speak language and/or can't get a job in Finland.

If a job/career is important, than Finland is not your place.
If you desperately want to be in Finland (land, climate , hot blonde) you have to make concessions on your career and take whatever job you can get.

Well, you can have a job/career, provided, you
1) Have the right qualifications ( Degree, apart from motivation and skills)
2) Have done your research on how to get a job here ( Getting a job before moving here is a +, but then YMMV)
3) Have the right network to help you and to help ( Knowing People who knows how to get you a job helps..)
4) Know and understand the system to navigate it better (Know at least what are your options given your lack of Finnish skills. The Tax, Govt. and Work )
5) Learn Finnish asap unless you can balance it with your niche skills ( but not for long)
6) Integrate into the society so you are considered on par with Finns ( yes this is possible if you try)
Most people who come here, ask questions like what Isma asked..and then when they face the realistic answer, take it personally, think it is rude or arrogant, and then blame the people here for not giving the answer they want to hear!!
