Translation of car part name
I was hoping that someone could give me the proper finnish word for a car part that I need to change. The guys dont really speak english that well at the auto part store I use. I need the serpentine belt for my car. This is the single belt that goes around the Alternator, Power Steering Pump, A/C Compressor, etc.. Not to be confused with the timing belt. Thanks.

Well, thats the regular "hihna" for "virranjakaja" "ohjaustehostin" "ilmastointi"... usually known as "jakajan hihna" ...the timing belt is "jakopään hihna". You must have the car make and model and engine specs ready, and they'll look in a "big book" and then you need to say you have "ohjaustehostin" "ilmastointi" as otherwise they'll give you a short alternator belt

Or....just take the old one in with you.

Socialism has never managed to create anything beyond corpses, poverty and oppression.

In the past it used to be called "laturin hihna", but since it nowadays powers loads several pieces of ancillary equipment, a more appropriate name would be "apulaitehihna".
