Cleaning a Stove top?

Post by panda_123 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 11:00 am

What do I use to clean the burners of the stove top? I tried wiping them with a sponge and some water - but am noticing some dark spots (possibly from spills).
Thanks.

if you are talking about a ceramic hob? Or metal type?

If ceramic, you can get a special cleaner for this in most department stores/large supermarkets, works great!

Theres three kinds of stovetops these days... the modern ones its all flat and you get special gunk for it... the classic ones... clean? Theres "liesimusta" I use to do my drip-pan with, but the orange highly base pipe cleaners do wonders for rust and crud and the liesimusta does then the rest... but thats a classic stive... usually nobody minds as long it doesn't get rusty/caked with drippings...

I have an old type of stove top, and I use this for cleaning it once a week...

It works fine, and does not seem to scratch the enamel and for me gets all the dirt off (using normal kitchen cleaner)... but do not use it on the cooker knobs as it rubs off the numbers and symbols (I know this from experience)... and do not use it on any other knobs either, unless you like that sort of thing (I have no experience of this :D )!
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.
