What kind of right a natural father has?

I notice there are so many fathers are not exactly living with their children. Or change a word, many mothers are not living with children's natural father. (Don't start to ask me where I live or what company I am working for so to get such nice accompany. I just happened to notice and rather start to be curious about it.) I wonder what kind of right a baby's natural father has, in case he is not married with baby's mother when baby is born.

if I understood right, no matter whether there is a blood-tie between the baby and the father, as long as the baby is born in a marriage, the husband of mother would be legal father, right? Then what happened with the natural father in such case?

what would happen if a guy just does not know he has a baby somewhere?

The biological father would be out of the picture until he is recognized as such.
And that would require an action of the mother (and an agreement of the legal father). So as long as the mother does nothing you have no rights.
Off course you can always try legal action against the mother to force her.

The child however has the right to know her biological father when it becomes an adult. But it is not obliged to exercise that right.

DNA test is evident enough, but you need to sue to get it.

Usually though the county is very keen on finding the father as the father has the "right" to pay child support so if theres no father recorded the county ends up paying.

So, if there is one guy outside of a marriage insists to test the chance of being nature father of a baby, then the couple are surely put to test? So a woman has no right to hide an affair from her husband then!

- DNA test positive > you become the father > husband leaves > you get bill for child support > maybe you get visiting rights > she will still shag someone else.

Plus, someone is taking care of it for most of the time. Baby is growing by him/herself. The child support is nothing compare to all those expenses.

only one question left: if natural father pays, will he definitely gets right of baby? in what case a mother could refuse it?

Basically, according to the social services of Helsinki you must get both the wife and the husband (/legal partner ?) to agree before you're untitled to claim paternity.

I have to claim again that I am not "bad guy", even not a man. I think I have been quite clear in initial post that i am just curious about such case.
