A bar that is well mixed with straights and
gays, there are occasional events such as
Finnish bands or drag acts. In the
basement bar there is a small dance floor
that can sometimes offer promising music.
Not the most impressive place but it serves
its purpose.

Gay Bars and Clubs
DTM
This is the best-known gay club in Finland
and one of the biggest in the Nordic
countries. A popular party place boasting a
lighting and sound system unrivalled by
other Helsinki clubs. There are two dance
floors and a café. The café is opens at 9
everyday, Sundays at 12. Go here to enjoy
a drink or a coffee and do some light people
watching. The café is nicely decorated with
a wood effect linoleum wall and the
occasional missing floor tile. The lower
dance floor plays typical club music, pop
remix hits while the upstairs is for those
that enjoy hits from the 70s and 80s. On
Saturday nights the upper floor is women
only. The age limit is 18 before 21:00 and
20 after. Admission is free except on
Saturdays after 22:00.

Con Hombres
A video bar with endless hours of
EuroVision song contest videos. A slightly
older crowd goes this place.

Hercules
Current dance remix hits as well as a few
disco tunes thrown in occasionally. While
you can often find some young people
mixed in here, the crowd tends to be
slightly older. Cover is usually free except
when there is a show. Age limit 24 on
Friday & Saturday, other nights 20. It’s
worth a look into at least once.

The Room
Most likely the best gay bar for people
watching, if you can find your way through
the endless cloud of cigarette smoke. Many
of the regulars so to speak around town
spend countless evenings here and are
willing to befriend the occasional passerby
that stops in for a drink. Take a friend and
enjoy the evening taking in all the sights,
no pun intended.

Care to elaborate what you mean by 'free life' ? I'd say we're pretty conservative and abiding to rules (and we have many rules) more than say in Sweden, Denmark and Netherlands. But then again depends where you are from how we define 'conservative' in the first place.
The president is just good luck- in the next decade or so there could be a major conservative party taking over...who knows..."nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky..."
