So, how did you like Germany? I didn't see the game and even though Australia didn't play much the Germans seem to have a team... "Is a game for 22 people that run around, play the ball, and one referee who makes a slew of mistakes, and in the end Germany always wins"

Germany was something I expected from England and Argentina, maybe even from France (that game was enough to put me to sleep on the couch). It seems that they don't need Bollocks and might do fine if they stop taking yellow cards from jumping. Referees have been the most positive surprise and those yellows for diving...

Was Maicon's goal last night a fluke? Some places rekon it was ment, me it was just a blast across goal, it was all he could do really.

From bbc
Latching on to a pass down the right from Elano but at a seemingly impossible angle trapped against the byeline, he produced a swerving screamer that bent in with goalkeeper Ri Myong-guk standing a fraction too far off his post.
Nah, he blasted it across goal and it went in.

By the way, is anyone missing EURO 2008 yet? It's last-chance saloon tonight with Spain, but so far aside from the Germans' carve-up of a genial but inadequate Australia this renewal of the World Cup has been about as exciting as watching grass grow. It might be a good idea in future to decide the groups in the pub the night before - all these teams' coaching staffs have done their homework immaculately these past months in blanking out anything remotely resembling creativity in the opposition.

Spain-Switzerland will be only the second wholly-European tie, so let's see how its fits into the wider context so far and aforementioned nostalgia.

Brazil - DPRK was intriguing last night, even if it was one-way traffic. Interesting to see how a side so relatively isolated from the international system likes to kick its bags of wind around. They were comfortable on the ball when they had it, unlike, say, Carragher, SWP, Terry, Heskey. But yes, intriguing rather than purely entertaining football. Similary, it would be easy to forgive a somewhat negative approach from the Swiss this evening though.

Chile have been tipped to dispose of Honduras rather easily. Maybe it's all gonna kick off today...

Isn't it how it usually goes?
Euro are far more entertaining. If we only could get Brazil and Argentina to play over here...

Don't know what ManU supporters make out of Queiroz, I effing can't stand the guy. He seems to have castrated the portuguese team.
Oh well, perhaps in 2012...

You don't have to watch football to enjoy Vuvuzelas if you can listen to vuvuzela online radio 24/7.
