Which one? ...the guy with the fiddle..or the guy with the beard ...

If you saw a guy wandering around Helsinki about a month ago wearing a cycling jersey looking vaguely like this...then that was me... [Actually the shirt has a similar theme but the design and colours are a bit different...but you get the idea.]

....and yes, indeed, I would actually wear something like that....

Yeah...I thought they were actually pretty good...and I even understood some of the words:

Juodaan viinaa
Tullaan viisaammiksi näin

...of course, only a drunk would actually believe that...

Better wording might be:...Tullaan ärsyttäviksi näin...

It is a jocular/sarcastic reference to the well-known adage “Viina on viisasten juoma.” (Which is a bit ambiguous saying and could really be interpreted either way... but is usually taken to mean that strong spirits are only to be consumed by those who are ‘responsible’ and ‘wise’ enough to keep their consumption [and level of intoxication] in check... But of course, in this song, whatever pro-moderation message the adage is conventionally thought to convey is turned on its head and knowingly interpreted in the completely opposite way... where you gain ‘wisdom’ from the bottle!)

The phrase mentioned above is often followed by a remark in the vein of “...mutta kyllä se tyhmemmillekin maistuu!

maistua = “to taste” (literally); but also: “to have a taste/fondness/liking for”
