Re: I don't know.
Perhaps it's best you accept what people are saying.
You need to understand things aren't easy in this country.
And you need to understand, people don't blab about their incomes and house prices and whatnot. It's showing off.
You want to come and live here in 4 years.... You should use the years to learn about how this country works. This culture. It's a very reserved culture (apart from when Finns are drunk) and you just don't talk openly about such things like 800,000€ to buy a house. That's just how it is.
Why do you want to come here? Your reasons seem so shallow. And clearly you don't know much about here.
And do you realise how difficult it is to get into studying for Finns, let alone foreigners? You may not even get into anywhere. Competition is very tough. And things may be different in four years time. Education may not be free for foreigners....
And you stated you aren't good at languages.... So why do you choose a country which has one of the hardest languages in the world to learn? When it's clear you are financially well off enough to go to a country where you could benefit from life a whole lot more?
This site isn't known for holding your hand. The Finns who write here, and the foreigners..... They tell it how it is. And it's all true. It sucks for people who can't accept it, but again, life is hard here and people are only telling what it's like.

I don't know how many times I've said I'm planning on going to university.Flossy1978 wrote:Perhaps it's best you accept what people are saying.

Yelling won't help.
Do you see your government yelling that spying on everyone isn't up to discussion anymore! Lesson learned! Forgetaboutit! Or is the topic silenced to death?

Says a person moving to Finland, where all tax records are public and transparentI'VE LEARNED MY LESSON ABOUT BEING OPEN ABOUT MONEY. Never again.

Re: I don't know.
I'm just fed up with people saying for me to keep quite about finances because it is boastful, so I stopped and now they want to keep talking about it and keep bringing it up! It's ridiculous. The only thing there is to talk about on the subject of money is that it sounds like I'm boasting about it, and since I've made it clear it wasn't my intent and that I'll never speak about it again, there is nothing more to say on the subject. So why keep bringing it up when it's already been settled?Upphew wrote:Yelling won't help.

So do not react to that subject. Let it slide. Do not answer to this post.AnnabelleIeve wrote:I'm just fed up with people saying for me to keep quite about finances because it is boastful, so I stopped and now they want to keep talking about it and keep bringing it up! Well I don't care if people look. I do agree that money is better earned than just given.Pursuivant wrote:Says a person moving to Finland, where all tax records are public and transparentI'VE LEARNED MY LESSON ABOUT BEING OPEN ABOUT MONEY. Never again.
