Opting out of church tax

The thing is, we don't think you need the church to do good or be a good person. We don't believe in silly things like heaven and hell. And of course you don't need faith or a belief in a deity to be good. This is ever so evident in this day and age.
Many thousands every year are waking up and have been resigning from the church.

Humans have tendency to slide to extremes so it's no surprise that if many take atheism to extreme. I personally think that you don't need a god to be a good person, you need to be a good human being to be a good person. But this is my opinion others can have their own opinion and have the right to think totally the opposite as well.


I would pay church tax when they will not own vast swathes of land and huge properties and will be dependent on my money to do the good things. Right now they can show me an example by believing more in god. They can spend their existing wealth for the well being of mankind and trusting in god that he would not leave them alone if they don't own peoperties. He would make new sources of income for them from the sources they can't even think of. Isn't it exactly what they try to tell us all the time while asking for money?

For me, I would prefer a church tax, rather than hearing pastor begging for money every Sunday. The tax approach would allow the church to concentrate more on helping the community, rather than fundraising operations. Personally, I think the pastor has better connection to locals to do charity work, instead of anonymous government offices ... but I guess that would be dependent on the initiative of the pastor.

So you are preaching about thing what probably doesnt affect immigrants, i have no idea how immigrant could be registered in one withouth will or how many immigrants belong to official churches, in immigrant forum?
Also you forget general taxes (yhteisövero) paid to churches what you cant opt out what goes on keeping cemeteries and historical churches etc
