You might be acquainted with lots of stories from the USA, where usual people like teenagers start up their business at home. This all seems to be easy, as they just register themselves for tax paying and then they straightforwardly start working.
Do you think it would be as easy as in the USA to start, for example, baking cakes in my kitchen and sell them via various points of sales?
Taking into account Finnish bureaucracy and their special attitude towards safety, would I need to apply for tons of permissions? I mean that my kitchen, where I would be baking cakes, theoretically might be dirty, I might neglect working with gloves and clean cutlery, some external substances might get into my cakes while being prepared and so on... Do the government care about these things? Or can I just register my business and sell home-made food without filling in lots of documents?
Thank you
Is it legal to bake cakes at home for the purpose of selling?

Any serious business would need to be certified as a commercial kitchen. If you bake a couple and sell them, it's ok at least in Helsinki. You would just report the income on tax returns.nikitushu wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 8:10 pmYou might be acquainted with lots of stories from the USA, where usual people like teenagers start up their business at home. Baking for a seasonal market or summer BBQ (few times per year) is very common. But when you become a regular at the weekly market, better have all your professional paperwork in order.Any serious business would need to be certified as a commercial kitchen. Yeah... seems to be. Might not be so straight forward as you think. At least it seems you have hoops to jump through even there: eg. https://www.agriculture.ny.gov/FS/consu ... cessor.pdfnikitushu wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 8:10 pmYou might be acquainted with lots of stories from the USA, where usual people like teenagers start up their business at home.
