I was just trying to understand how this whole process works. My assumption came from reading the threads in this forum related to this subject. People have said that many times it takes long time for the establishment of identity correctly. But I was confused because I thought that was done already when people applied for residence permit. So I didn't understand why it takes so long. 6 months to a year should be fine. But it takes 2 years or longer for many applications. I was trying to understand the reason for it.hellofelicia wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 12:27 pmHave you considered that SUPO has performed this check for everyone else in the queue as well? I also don't know where you base the assumption that they don't have to do the same thing again. You get elevated privileges as a citizen, so it makes sense for them to do different kinds of investigation.Maaria wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 3:27 amFaster than how long it's taking now. What I understand from reading this thread is application takes so long because identity has to be established correctly and checks are done for that purpose. And supo does that. But if supo has done that when the same person applied for residence permit, they must have these info in their records. So they don't have to do the same thing again. But I am confused as to why it's still taking so long for so many people.
Also, SUPO is not the only entity that receives requests from Migri and I don't think your understanding that the delays come from SUPO are correct.

Just because there might be no need to establish identity again, it doesn't mean that there are no other things happening to your applicationMaaria wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 2:12 pmI was just trying to understand how this whole process works. Hey,
Do you know the best way to provide all the trips you've done during being in Finland? In the electronic form when put a checkbox that you did travel, then it asks to provide all trips right in there in the form, which is not very convenient. Do you know if it is possible to provide it as a separate attachment? As it would be much more convenient to provide it as a separate form.

Re: Citizenship Application 2022
Finally got my decision today. Applied beginning of July 2021. Went to stage 2 and stage 3 today. Got an email when the process begun. Queue number was 3836.
My application was processed probably because my husband is applying for work permit at the same time.

Thanks
I’m from Asia. I moved to Finland on RP B in 2012. On A RP since 2016. I lost my job due to Covid and decided to come back to school so was quite nervous during the waiting time. But my husband have been supporting me financially so probably that’s not a problem for them that I was studying on A permit.

Relax those automated messages do not mean anything. I received them every Wednesday since last month even today I got it. My application has been in the queue more than 9 months now. So it is not related to any decision making. People who got decision after that was just coincidence. I have a friend who did not get that before his decision was made recently.Edward35 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 6:48 pmWere you receiving automated messages before you got your decision?
