FINALLY!
I got a positive decision after almost 31 months of waiting.
I was informed by an SMS about the decision.
Queue number was 150.
I applied on 09.2020
Country is not on the list but I am a sand person.
My "hint" : when you ask about your case, maybe it is better to contact directly the officer who is on charge of your case and not info at Migri. In my case the officer gave me more insight into the process.
Thank you all!
This forum is like psychiatric for depressed applicants.
Good luck everyone!
Congratulations esimerkki! I guess you hold the record for the longest wait on this forum
One question, how long did you wait in stage 2?
Thank you mate!
A record that I didn't look for
It moved to stage 2 last September.

Congrats! Would you please share the insights about the process you learned from your case officer?
Thank you Maria!
I think the most important insight the officer gave me was a more accurate estimation of the waiting time.

Interesting, did he mention any reason for the delay? Like lack of officers at Migri or waiting for a response from some other authority?

Although confidence in migri for a lot of people has gone down lately, it appears they are trying to keep up on their promise of clearing the so called backlog by the end of March this year as stated. Let’s keep our fingers crossed because if that is true, a lot of people who have been waiting from 2020 to early 2021 should be getting their decisions within the next couple of weeks. And as I have noticed, for most people even if they are made to wait for countless months or even years, as soon as they get their positive decisions, they forget all the hustle they’ve been through and get real happy. Hoping for the best for all.

They are trying to integrate 50 thousand Ukrainians into the country. They don't care about you and me applying for citizenship. The Third World country will face all kinds of difficulties. Example here

Do the demagoguery on some other sites because it doesn't make sense any convincing, what kind of investigation takes 2-3 years.
Few people understand this ,Now it's time to speak the truth!!

Applied 2021 march, when I sent them email asking about my application, this is the answer I got(Tämän hetken arvion mukaan hakemuksesi voisi tulla käsittelyyn kesällä 2023.) mean while i have been waiting for 23kk and still stage 1.

I can understand your frustration. It’s ridiculous how long they have had to make you wait.

That’s crazy bro. I guess they cannot really be trusted then cos they promised to resolve the outstanding ones by spring this year and now they’re saying summer ? Man, who knows what they’d say again come summer

The most frustrating part is that they don't open your case to see if you have a straightforward case or not and they make you wait. The queue number is moving by 2 per day from 2021 applications. If they are really willing to process all 2020 applications latest by spring 2023 they should spend more time on those but instead, it is the 2022 applications they process the most

Government wants to increase immigration to Finland. And now migri is trying to let as much as possible people inside Finland. Now the priority is given for processing of permits based on work and studies. Not only citizenship applicants are suffering. Two of my friend are now waiting for family grounds based permits for about 8 months. Just imagine if you have to wait for 1-year-lasting-permit for 9 months. I'm not telling that it is completely wrong. Everybody deserve to have a chance to move to Finland quick and with less problems to start a new life. But more people they get inside - more problems with permits extension they will get in the future, queue and waiting periods will be even longer. And we know how migri deals with backlogs. Nothing will be better if they will not hire really a lot of workers.

What is the point to bring many people inside and making the one already inside frustrated? Does that make sense?

Hello. I am filling out the EnterFinland citizenship form. Can you please tell me if I still need to attach payslips or not? Websites have different information.
Migri says
EnterFinland says
