Hello people!

Do you know how much time it usually takes to get the decision once the application has been started processing? So from Stage 2 to Stage 3.
I know that there are example for very long time being in stage 2, but in general.

It varies widely. There have been reports on this forum of minutes/hours in stage two and up to many months and at least one case I believe in the past year where stage two lasted a year.

Just for statistics:

Applied for citizenship on March 31. Having A permit for 4,5years, I have always been working in Finland. We applied with my son.
Our application was started processing on August 29, after 2,5h we got decision. So a couple of days less than 5 months.

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion. I have contacted the Ombudsman and let's see what will happen. I do not know why I have to wait so long. I have a clean record and have been working. I have a very high-paying job as well and pay huge taxes. I will just be patient since it remains just 2 months for me to complete their so-called processing time

Hope it works out for you mate. If you did the complaint properly they should get on it. Honestly, I wish more people would do it. Migri is real scumbag because they word it like you have no right to complain. Citizenship IS a privilege but after all you are paying €450 for something. There is a minimum service standard for that kind of money, and that goes doubly because they are a govt. entity. So the Ombudsman (Oikeausasiamies) holds them accountable.

With a bit of luck your complaint will go fast and they'll put their foot up Migri's ass. It's often sadly the only way to get these incompetent boomer-tier legacy govt. entitles to pull their heads out of their asses and improve their services. There's no way it costs them €450 in man hours for each person. So they are making €€€ on this and the money needs to go somewhere to make it more efficient.

There are many other people that have been waiting over 2 years. The fact that your queue number is 65x means there are almost 650 people that have been waiting longer than you. Me for e.g. I have been waiting for 28 months. Queue number 38x. Applied since may 2021. I also have a very good yearly income with good job and paying huge taxes. Had my yki with averagely 4 and have never been jobless or on unployment benefits. Never had any legal issue with a clean record. Honnestly I dont see any reason why my application should stay this long. My country is on the list but I dont think solely that should be a valid reason because i know people from countries on the list that received decisions withing months.

Mate just do what the guy above did. Complain to Ombudsman (Oikeausasiamies) same way I told him to. The more complaints they get from people the more pressure Migri is under to get their act together. There's seriously nothing else to say. If you have time to complain here, you definitely have time to make a legal complaint to the Oikeausasiamies. You're then doing yourself a favour and everyone else who is waiting.

I've been here long enough to know that you need to put a gun to someone's head or your foot up their ass to get things moving. I have had 100% success with Oikeausasiamies every time I complained to them. The only prerequisites are:

1. Wait long enough that you actually have a legitimate complaint
2. Present an extremely good argument about how the govt. entity has failed you
3. Present as much evidence as you can, including having at least contacted the govt. entity first and got no result from them
4. Sit back and wait
5. Best thing is that Oikeausasiamies is paid for by our ridiculously high taxes, so you are getting your money's worth from tax.

100% of the time it works every time. Never had them reject one of my complaints or not solve it within very fast time. So long as you make a good case and have waited long enough you should be fine. So my advice? Same as the other guy just above my post. Make a complaint to them and make it a good thorough complaint.

Hah don't hold your breath. You might be waiting 2+ years. It's generally faster now but no guarantees at all. The queue number means nothing. The only thing that is important is how long you waited and if you applied with all documents in tact and if they put you in the fast or slow lane.

Based on my observation, individuals from Nepal, India, and Bangladesh receive relatively quick decisions (within 5-6 months).

Your anecdotes don't count for anything. I know guys from these countries who waited up to 2 years.

It is very sad that people who are making over 80k per year have to be stressed out this way. Meanwhile, I know people who are not working only on Kela get their decision between 4 - 8 months. I am not against them but hard-working people should be treated in the best of manner or at least equally. Logically if there are backlogs it should be FIFO model. What is frustrating me over 26 months I am still on stage 1. They have not checked anything about my case to know if this guy is good for our country or not. the only thing I hear from them is

lmao piss off. I didn't make some fake ID you clown. It's not my fault you can't read. My surname changed due to marriage, a normal, perfectly understandable and legal reason for changing your surname. Migri also got a full copy of my new passport which shows my surname and my name changed IN FINLAND first. I also applied under work, not family grounds. So the name change doesn't even matter. It's taking long because it's taking long, because it's Migri and it's the same for everyone who applied over 1 year ago.

Instead of wasting people's time and crying in the forums about waiting, maybe you should have paid your debts and not stolen money from Kela and your decision likely would have been positive. Now with the changes to citizenship hopefully you can't apply for at least another 4 years and they triple check you aren't stealing money every other time you apply.
