@phungxuanton Mine was stuck in processing hell for 3 weeks.

My application went to In Progress on 18.9.2024. Exactly 2 weeks later, they sent an email asking if I traveled since I started my application and also what was my source of income since then (I had left my previous job to start freelancing). I received a positive decision today. So almost 3 weeks for processing, and a total of 10 months for my application.

I've lived in Finland since 2017.

Submitted application: 19.10.2023
Visited migri office: 20.12.2023 (I was out of the country when I received my YKI test results, so I had to delay my Migri appointment)
Diary Number: 16xxx/310/2023
Nationality: US

My queue numbers from Kamu chatbot:
31.1.2024 — 6654
17.5.2024 — 5229

My queue number was smaller than the usual reported during the time when the Kamu chatbot was still working, so I had optimistically hoped that it meant I was in the super short queue and would get my citizenship by April  But it seems like the date when you received your diary number is the best prediction for the "normal" applications. Nothing else seems to matter. I think I would have gotten it within the day of the application going into processing, like the others here, if I had stayed at my previous full time job.

I think maybe when you know your application is going to be processed soon, you can already send additional information about your travel (especially, if like me, you have not travelled at all since I submitted my application, which I suppose is not normal) and income. For example, that you have not travelled and your income source is the same. So they will not be inclined to ask for more information.
Congratulations! 🎊🎉 I know the wait was long but I’m happy it’s over for you now 🥳🥳

Hi everyone,

First message in this forum although I was checking this topic every day for the past 9 months:)
All of the people sharing their experience here kept me away from anxiety and now it is my turn to give some positive news.

I got the positive decision today for the citizenship.

Came to Finland in 2019 with A type permit with a job offer.

Online application: 02.01.2024
Visited migri office: 03.01.2024
Diary Number received: 03.01.2024
Diary Number: xx/310/2024 (one of the first applications in 2024 :D )
Nationality: Non-EU

Processing began at 7 am and got the positive decision at 8 am.
Congratulations 🎉🎉

Hi phungxuanton & B05,

When did you receive the email? Was it in the morning or afternoon? I received mine at 15:30 but still haven't received a decision yet. Someone with the same dates mentioned in the Facebook group that they got theirs within 15 minutes.

I received around 12:30 last Friday which was Oct 4th, still no news. I guess some applications take longer to be processed and we are one of them. Did you travel a lot during the time of living here? I traveled quite a bit and also switching from student residence permit B to working permit A, so I guess my case is not as straightforward as someone who came with an A permit who had not been traveled a lot

Hello guys,
Thanks for all the sharings here which constantly decrease my anxiety in the past year.

I went to the police office today to finish the last step and would like to share the footprint here.

29.5.2023 submit the application.
A series of numbers which indicate my position in the queue this year:
4391 Jan 03
4350 Jan 14
4174 Feb 20
3963 Apr 15
3865 May 13

Finally, on 18.7.2024, I got a positive decision.

I hope you guys can get through this also as soon as you wish. Good luck.

And did you receive your diary number on the 4th of January as well? I came directly to work and currently hold a P permit. I travel maybe 1-2 times a year for short trips, around 2-3 weeks maximum each time.
