Hi, anyone here like me who applied in 2022 and is still waiting? :(
I applied with passport, from EU country, application based on work, not on marriage, resident here for over 10y and no issues or exceptions.
I proved my identity visinting Migri in November 2022 and my work situation didn't change since. My original estimated processing time was max 16 months (March 2024) then it became 20 months (July 2024), then 23 months (October 2024), then 25 months (December 2024). I'm still in the waiting phase, not processing.

Hello, you are not one of them, there are many more people here who have been waiting since 2022. When I applied, too, the estimated date was about 18 months, then 21, later 24, then 30, and now 31. I think this is not final, they will add waiting time for several more months. I've been waiting for 27 months already. I wish you patience and a speedy receipt.
Same here, I am also waiting for 25 months. We should wait patiently. Other than this, we can't do anything. This is what I have experienced.
Same here, completed the 28 months of waiting already. I hope it comes some day :)

Thank you for the update.

I'm "not so patiently" waiting and getting super antsy.

Yeah it looks like application date is important too. Your contact got processed faster than the 8.1 application date but with 10.1 diary number (since your contact applied earlier than 8.1).

Anyway looks like 8.1 is the latest **application** date with decision (on the normal queue at least). Just writing this down here for ease of tracking.

Hoping to get my turn tomorrow or Monday. 😹

My application date is 08.01 but diary number on the 15.01 so I'm anxiously waiting here as well. Hoping some good news by Monday as well. Finger crossing.

I'm actually confirming with my contact and waiting to hear back. He can't remember his diary number date exactly, whether it is 09 or 11.01. But his diary number starts with 1XX/310/2024

An update especially for the 2022 applicants.
Finally, I got positive decision today after 24 months, to be exact.

Application date: August 16,2022
Visited Migri: October 8, 2022
In Progress: September 16, 2024
Requested additional info: September 30, 2024
(Replied in Oct. 2)
Decision made: October 8, 2024 (around 4:30 pm)

Wishing to those other 2022’s to get their decision soon
I spent the day reading this entire 2024 thread and it seems that autumn 2022 applications are finally getting processed.

I will post here when I receive updates, thanks to the other 2022 applicants for doing the same. It really helps now that Kamu is not giving the place in the queue anymore.

How come it can be 28 and 31 months if max processing time here if you came with residence permit is 25 months according to website? Does migri justifies this somehow?

It is not as straightforward as that. It doesn’t matter sometimes whether you had rp or not when you arrived. Sometimes it’s because of confirming your history/identity at your original country. Sometimes there had been instances when people ticked a wrong box in the citizenship application form. There is no definite answer and migri won’t give you a reason.

When I asked migri directly they always told me that I need to wait n-months which was always same max number of months as for people who came with permit here. So, does it mean that I need to wait 25 months now and not 30? b.c. last time 6 months ago it was 23 they told me by email

Unfortunately what they tell you is just estimate and it could always be more or less than that so I wouldn’t rely on it.

As we’ve also discussed before, coming with a permit or no permit doesn’t matter in some instances. Many who applied for rp while inside Finland still got citizenship within the normal time frame.

Since you’ve been waiting for more than a year, you are definitely on the long queue and it could be 30 months.

I understand it sucks to wait so long but unfortunately it is what it is and there’s nothing else to do except to just wait.
