When i emailed them some weeks ago they told me my case should take 9 months, so pretty much now.
EU citizen, employed status
Applied on 3.4.2024
Diary number received 24.4.2024 37xx
Still waiting and no progress in the application
Anyone among EU applicants in late April got a decision or call for extra info already?

Best of luck to all!
I am from the EU, visited Migri on 05.04.24, diary number 30xx. I am at the first stage.
Hi, thanks for the reply and sorry to hear. Seems like some who visited Migri at an earlier date are already receiving their decision, hope you get yours soon too 🙏

Well, I wouldn't say I'm missing the deadlines—people who applied in April are getting theirs right now. But I think I'll be in a long queue. I always end up being the last to get everything, no matter where or what.

I'm finally happy to share my timeline as well, which was much quicker than I expected!

Applied: 26.06.2024 (no need to visit a service point)
In Progress: 29.01.2025
Decision: 31.01.2025

The decision mentioned that it was made automatically:
Päätös on ratkaistu automaattisesti. Lisätietoa automaattisesta päätöksenteosta
migri.fi/automaattinen-paatos
Background: non-EU (Russia), arrived in 2018 on A permit (as a specialist). Had P permit since 2023.Diary number 63xx/310/2024.

Guys,
A decision has been made on my spouse application, but we cannot see it, and it says, that if you cannot see the document concerning your decision, be patient, you will be contacted. Does anyone know why the decision letter is not ready immediately?
I am scared badly!

Not at all, I cannot think of any issues for rejection. I am Finnish citizen myself, obtained mine by application 3 years ago.
Do you mean that it is rejected?

can it be that it has been an automatic decision but there needs to be check by a real agent? I am wondering if someone knows similar case?
It is interesting that we have NOT received the text message saying that the decision is made.

Interesting, I noticed that on this page https://migri.fi/en/processing-times
Citezenship application for an adult section

Application processing time in most cases: 31 months
Application processing time in a minority of cases: 9 months
Maximum application processing time provided by law
(persons who have received international protection or are stateless) : 12 months

Means those who get citezenship in 9months are minority, in fact, and most people wait longer.

Hey good catch! But I recall seeing something like

Minority cases: 6-9 months
Majority cases: 9-31 months

The existence of 9 month is both cases tells you that this is when most of the applicants would receive their decisions.

Hei,
I applied for my citizenship last night and I was told that my application is waiting for processing and I don't need to visit the service point. I want to know if someone else has had this before and how long it takes to get a diary number. (Edit:just got my diary number)

The second thing is that I applied my citizenship with an Ammattitutkinto 150 osp completed in Finnish and I wanted to go to migri for interview and talk to them in Finnish and show my Finnish language skills but it does not seem possible now. I want to know does it matter and will migri reach out to my teacher to ask him about my finnish langauge skills or will they just check online for verification if I my degree is real. The problem with the degree is that the courses shown in the transcript only have either passed or fail as a grade rather than 1 to 5 to show how good my skills are. I asked for my supervisor for a hand written certificate to state that I finished the entire degree in Finnish and to grade my Finnish language skill and he wrote me the certificate, Can anyone guide me if its a good idea to attach this certificate as a supplement to my application right now or no?

The third thing I want to know is that what are the chances that if the applicant does not need to visit the service point, that his application will be placed in the automation queue? Does anyone have any info about this?

The fact that you don't need to visit service point has 0 impact on anything

Hello. My citizenship application process:

12.06.2024: Applied
18.06.2024: Dairy number received
09.12.2024: Sent info about trips
23.12.2024: Sent info that I won't be around from 24.12.2024 to 02.02.2025
21.01.2025: Processing began (I was still outside of Finland)
02.02.2025: Returned to Finland
03.02.2025: Received positive decision!

I wrote to them in November 2024 to ask how long the process would take and they said 9 months. I ended up being quicker than that.

Background: Indian, moved to Finland to work in 2019, was consistently employed. The decision page said it was an automatic decision.
