Any idea how soon we could know of any changes? Do you know when it will be in the parliament? Where is your go-to for knowing such info?

That's how democracy works. In practice the government has a majority so the parliament rarely does big changes.
The ministries have trackers for their projects:

Re: Citizenship application 2025
It seems that no new citizenship applications have been processed for quite a while. I have the impression that Migri only reviews them a couple of times a month, if that.
I personally applied in January 2024. My application moved into the processing stage at the end of October. For six months, there were no updates—no requests for additional documents, nothing. Then I received a request for supplementary information, which I promptly submitted. Since then, there has been no response or activity on my application for over a month. It feels like it could remain in limbo for years without any further attention.
I'm neither a refugee nor an entrepreneur; I hold a specialist visa and have been working continuously during my time in Finland. Yet, the decision-making process seems endlessly slow. It feels as if someone briefly reviews the application and then simply leaves it unresolved.
Clearly, something needs to change.
In light of this, the question is: should we consider submitting a collective complaint to draw more attention to the issue?

Democracy isn’t that difficult to comprehend, I meant it doesn’t sound good considering my situation.

Re: Citizenship application 2025
Migri has recently updated their statistics (https://migri.fi/en/processing-of-citiz ... plications).
Approximately 25,300 citizenship applications are waiting for processing (so I guess those are in stage 1).
Thereof 10,990 ones submitted before 2024.
Given that Migri is doing on average 1150-1200 decisions on citizenship applications per month (see https://tilastot.migri.fi/index.html#de ... &start=651), it would take them more than 9 months to process applications submitted before 2024, if they do only these (which is not the case). Average expected waiting time for an application submitted now would be more than 21 months...

You can receive an automated decision on your application if you meet the following conditions:
you have submitted your application online in Enter FinlandLink to an external website, Opens in a new tab and have paid the processing fee there
you have submitted the application on 2 May 2024 or thereafter
you have completed the application with due care and have submitted all the required information and attachments
you meet all the requirements for acquiring Finnish citizenship. Your application does not require individual assessment, such as granting an exemption from a requirement
you are at least 18 years old
you have not added any co-applicants to your application
you do not have a non-disclosure for personal safety reasons (dvv.fi)Link to an external website, Opens in a new tab
we do not need to ask for additional information from other authorities to process your application
you hold the citizenship of a country other than Finland.

They are not processing all appication types uniformelly. People with refugree background and identity quetions are the longest to be processed, and timing will not depend on migri, but on external agencies when they will be able to clarify information for them.

By the way, if you noticed from on migri page and stat page most of applicatilns processed for the last month (i.e. 77%) from 2023. Might be a sign of justice that people from 2024 will wait same time as others. But total processing time is crazy, I know, but all us should be treated equally.

There is no yet statistics re number of decisions made in April (will be available next week), but most likely proportion would be about the same.
As they say "We have allocated more resources to process applications that have been submitted on 31 December 2023 or earlier". I think this is very good (even though I submitted my application in 2024), as it leads a more fair treatment of applicants.

Re: Citizenship application 2025
Can I ask entrepreneurs who have been processed already or who are in the processing stage? When they started your processing? Did they start when it was exactly 23 months after submission or slightly eariler or later (if you can give exact timeline)? I'm asking because my 23 months are coming in 3 weeks, but at the same time I have plans to visit another country in EU for 2 weeks, so I'm no sure what to expect, should I return airplane tickets.
