Yes and no. Some immediately, some after 2 years, some after working...

(and yes, it is confusing even for the ladies working there so you ask three times and submit an application and the answer is usually some excuse for no...)

I am a Finnish citizen, moved back to Finland after several years abroad, brought along a hubby who got his Kela card and right to all benefits immediately after receiving his residence permit (which took 1 day to acquire in Prague) and coming to Finland. Even I had to apply to be taken back to Finnish social securty system at the time. That was several years ago but I don't think the system has changed that much. It may have something to do with the person's country of origin and how long they are eligible for social security there after moving out etc...

True.... I had to apply to be taken back as well. And it took quite a bit of time because somebody had marked me down as an 'entinen henkilö'... so basically I didn't existAndulka wrote:I am a Finnish citizen, moved back to Finland after several years abroad, brought along a hubby who got his Kela card and right to all benefits immediately after receiving his residence permit (which took 1 day to acquire in Prague) and coming to Finland.
