I understand that it seems impossibly unfair that this was so quick, compared to many stories here, but on the other hand my case was very clear.
Good luck to you others in your mission!
Did you get any additional document requests?

Yes of course. Have lived in Finland for 23 years - Finnish wife and 4 dual national kids - as an EU citizen (UK).pigrabbit94 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 9:37 amWould you mind sharing your situation? Brexit took that away from me (but got permanent residence as part of the withdrawal agreement), so studied intensively for YKI for about a year - passed the written part (it's enough) in April, and put my application in soon after that.
Fully employed for those 23 years here, no criminal record.
So like I said, probably a clear and easy case, which is why assume it only took Migri 18 minutes from opening the application, to making a decision.
Re: Citizenship Application 2022
Sorry to hear about your experience with Migri. I noticed that you had mentioned before that your country is not on the "list". Has Migri given a reason for this very long processing time? or do you have any guesses?

Re: Citizenship Application 2022
I've been just reading here as guest but got my decision today, so decided to register and share my experience:
15/6/22 submitted the application through enterfinland
04/7/22 proved the identity at migri. In the interview the migri officer said that it may take 24 months to process due to large backlog
No idea what my queue number was, I was not aware at that time there was one.
02/11/22 submitted a scan of my new passport through enterfinland (without being asked for it by migri)
17/11/22 got an email at 11:34 that "The processing has begun". At this point I was aware about the queue thing, so checked my number: 4852
17/11/22 got an SMS at 17:19 that the decision was given.
About my case: EU citizen, Moved to Finland in 2005, Finnish spouse and kid, always employed here, with current employer been for 15 years already, no criminal record, no traffic violations, no debts. The process was much faster that initially thought. I think that their automation could process my case easily. No additional info asked by migri prior they gave the decision.
I wish everyone good luck in their processing. As it was said in this forum before it seems those queue numbers do not mean much in terms of estimating when the decision can arrive.

More difficult is passing the speaking and writing.
I passed both from the first pair (this is normal - I never heard of anyone failing those), and only the writing from the second pair (this pair is MUCH more difficult).
It is enough, according to the rules:

Re: Citizenship Application 2022
Thanks for your words mate.
Migri replied twice to my emails, the delay is due to a big number of applicants. That is what they said, which we know now that it is BS, as people applying in 2022 already getting a decision.
My guess:
I am a sand person, persona non grata.
I can't prove it, no evidence, but I can't find any other reason.
I came to Finland as a student, working now, no crime record, not even a parking ticket.

Re: Citizenship Application 2022
You were right. I called Migri and asked about my status and from my understanding of her Finnish, I have to wait until my son's residence permit is approved and only after that I will receive the decision about our case. The bad thing is that extended residence permit for family members moves so slowly that I do not know when it will be approved.broccoli wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 4:05 pmHi, there must be a valid permit on the moment of the decision about citizenship.Dragun38 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 9:43 amHi everybody,
I am new at this forum and I would like to share my details.
Came here in 2017 as a student and from 2019 I am on type A residence permit. In May 2022 I applied for citizenship ( still there were 3 months to complete 4 years residence period) and my son also applied as co-applicant. When I applied my queue number was something like 7700. In September October queue started to move fast for me. I had a trip planned for 5 days in October which unfortunately got extended for another week (everything related to that trip like extension etc. I informed migri as a supplement). So while I was abroad I received an automatic e-mail asking to submit details on my travel and means of financial support for the last 5 months. Next day before I could submit my details my status changed to stage 2. I returned back Finland last Saturday and informed migri via enterfinland that I am back home. However, since that day already a week passed I have not received any information from them neither my status has changed. However, there is this kind of issue that might hold me for quite a long time in stage 2, my son's residence permit expired in the end of October and we have applied for extension in September and now most probably they are just waiting his residence permit extension, which does not sound logical. Hence, I wanted to ask is there anyone who received citizenship before pending residence permit extension is approved.
My country is not in the list.
Thank you for your replies.
Question: How exactly did you notify Migri about your traveling via enterfinland?
